MINUTES
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
Regular Meeting — Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
Commissioners Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 (Hybrid)
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Margaret Taylor called the meeting to order in the presence of Board of
Equalization(BOE) Vice Chair Pete Raab, Member Joe Langjahr and Member Joni Blanchard.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Taylor called for public comments, and none were received.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: This item was tabled for a future meeting.
HEARINGS: Before each individual hearing, Chair Taylor placed the appellants (if present) and
appraiser staff under oath. The Board conducted hearings for the following appeals:
9:30 a.m. to 9:43 a.m.

The Chair called for a recess at 9:43 a.m. and reconvened at 10:00 a.m. with all Board of Equalization
members present.

Appraiser present: Kyle Harrison

Chair Taylor addressed Appellant Waugaman, who appeared confused as to the process. She explained
that the Appellant has requested to increase her property value, but it seemed like that is not what she
was trying to do. She asked the Appellant if she wished to proceed with a petition withdrawal. Appellant
Waugaman stated she would like to formally withdraw her petition. The Board later determined they
will draft up a modified Order of Determination.
