HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOE M032124 050 co -i �SHING/ MINUTES BOARD OF EQUALIZATION Regular Meeting — Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. Commissioners Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 (Hybrid) CALL TO ORDER: Chair Margaret Taylor called the meeting to order in the presence of Board of Equalization(BOE) Vice Chair Pete Raab, Member Joe Langjahr and Member Joni Blanchard. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Taylor called for public comments, and none were received. CLOSED SESSION: A Closed Session was originally scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Chair Taylor announced that the Closed Session will be held from 9:32 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. to deliberate on individual tax appeals, not subject to the Open Public Meetings Act, as outlined in RCW 42.30.140(2). ACTION ITEMS: The Board resumed the Regular Meeting at 9:45 a.m. and took the following actions after Closed Session: Luke A. Poeschl BOE: 23-36-R- Parcel No. 940 200 008 Chair Taylor moved to sustain the Assessor's value. Member Raab seconded the motion. Chair Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. Rene Waugaman BOE: 23-37-R- Parcel No. 601 334 120 Chair Taylor moved to sustain the Assessor's value. Member Langjahr seconded the motion. Chair Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. Catherine K. Burhen BOE: 23-38-R- Parcel No. 984 600 106 Chair Taylor moved to sustain the Assessor's value. Member Blanchard seconded the motion. Chair Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Chair Taylor adjourned the meeting at 9:48 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
