MINUTES
BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
Regular Meeting — Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
Commissioners Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 (Hybrid)
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Margaret Taylor called the meeting to order in the presence of Board of
Equalization(BOE)Vice Chair Pete Raab, Member Joe Langjahr and Member Joni Blanchard.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Taylor called for public comments, and none were received.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Chair Taylor noted a correction to the determination minutes,they need
to be amended to say"Thursday"and not"Tuesday." She moved to approve the Regular Meeting
Minutes of February 6, 8, 13, 15 and 27, 2024, March 12, 14, 19, and 21, 2024 with the correction to the
determination minutes, as noted. Member Langjahr seconded the motion. Chair Taylor called for public
comments on the motion. Hearing no comments, she called for a vote on the motion. The motion carried
by a unanimous vote.
HEARINGS: Before each individual hearing, Chair Taylor placed the appellants (if present) and
appraiser staff under oath. The Board conducted hearings for the following appeals:

The Chair asked Appellant Karl Jacobsen if he would like to hold both hearings at the same time. He
agreed with holding both hearings and started with BOE 23-31-LO.
