BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
Regular Meeting — Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
Commissioners Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse
1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 (Hybrid)
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Margaret Taylor called the meeting to order in the presence of Board of
Equalization(BOE) Vice Chair Pete Raab, Member Joe Langjahr and Member Joni Blanchard.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Taylor called for public comments, and none were received.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Chair Taylor moved to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of March
26, 2024, with a correction to the spelling of BOE Member Joe Langjahr's last name.
Chair Taylor moved to allow the Chair to work with the Clerk on the May 28, 2024, to make sure they
accurately reflect decisions made today. Member Langjahr seconded the motion which carried by a
unanimous vote.
CLOSED SESSION: A Closed Session was originally scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Chair
Taylor announced that the Closed Session will be held from 9:36 a.m. to 9:57 a.m. to deliberate on
individual tax appeals, not subject to the Open Public Meetings Act, as outlined in RCW 42.30.140(2).
Chair Taylor resumed the regular meeting at 9:57 a.m. and announced an extension of the Closed
Session from 9:57 a.m. to 10:10 a.m.
ACTION ITEMS: The Board resumed the Regular Meeting at 10:11 a.m. and took the following
actions after Closed Session:
Sally and Gerald Allen
BOE: 23-41-R- Parcel No. 968 900 003
Chair Taylor moved to overturn the Assessor's value. Member Blanchard seconded the motion. Chair
Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote
on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
Karl and Sandra Jacobsen
BOE: 23-30- LO - Parcel No. 962 112 611
Chair Taylor moved to sustain the Assessor's value. Member Langjahr seconded the motion. Chair
Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote
on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.

Chair Taylor moved to sustain the Assessor's value. Member Blanchard seconded the motion. Chair
Taylor called for public comment on the motion, and no comments were received. She called for a vote
on the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.

CLOSING REMARKS: Chair Taylor and Member Raab thanked the new Board members for joining
the Board of Equalization and thanked the Clerk of the Board for her work this season.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Chair Taylor adjourned the meeting at 10:14 a.m. until the next
regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
