This time is dedicated to listening the public. Your comments on any topic are welcome. Please
keep them brief so others may also speak. You should know that in certain cases, such as
decisions relating to land use applications, the County Commission does not make the final
County decision and will not express any opinions in that regard. Comments made during the
Public Comment Period relating to an item where others make the final decision will not be sent
to that decision-maker. You may have other forums that will allow your comment to reach the
relevant decision-maker. The Commissioners will not use this time to respond to comments, but
may do so at a later time.

During this portion of the meeting the County Administrator, representing the administrative
division of the organization, will bring forward any items that may be of interest, or require the
attention of the County Board of Commissioners such as scheduling issues, reports received, and
so forth. There will be no substantive discussions of policy issues conducted during these
meetings. There is also the possibility of holding a work session/workshop for
educational/informational purposes only and so that the County Administrator and County
Commissioners can share information with each other. On occasion there may be the need to
approve a letter, or a communication, to be sent by the BOCC. In that case, a clerk will be
present to note the decision of any vote taken.
