Rehabilitation, M.P. 1.28 to M.P. 1.55, County Road No. 523408, Project No. MA1746 Statement of Issue: Planned resurfacing work for the Anderson Lake Road Rehabilitation project, M.P. 1.28 to M.P. 1.55 will be best served by a temporary road closure. The Department of Public Works has analyzed the closure and determined that a road closure is appropriate for this project. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: Road closure will increase safety for the motoring public and workers, and allow the work to be completed in a much shorter time period and at a lower cost. Given the location, availability of alternate routes, and advance warning to the public and motorists through signage, road closure is the best alternative. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Estimated savings of $10,000 compared to performing the work with the road open to traffic. Recommendation: The Board is requested to approve the road closure, and return an original resolution to Public Works for further processing.
