RESOLUTION NO. 35-08
WHEREAS, a planned storm sewer replacement for the Montgomery Lane Drainage
Improvements proiect. Milepost 0.25. County Road No. 542109. shall cause interruption and
unavoidable delays to traffic, and
WHEREAS, as potential hazard exists to the motoring public and the workers, and
WHEREAS, alternate routes are available to the motoring public, and
WHEREAS, notice of closure will be published in the official newspaper, and will be posted at
the site not less than 3 days prior to closure, as required by law, and
WHEREAS, Chapter 47.48 R.C.W. authorizes closure of roads,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that said Montgomery Lane be closed at milepost 0.25 to all traffic,
for a period not to exceed approximately three (3) consecutive days during the 2008 construction season,
for storm sewer improvements.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that road closures shall be carried out in accordance with the
Montgomery Lane Drainage Improvements construction plans, dated March, 2008.

Temporary Road Closure on Montgomery Lane, Montgomery Lane
Drainage Improvements, County Road No, 542109.
Statement of Issue: A planned storm sewer replacement, as part of the Montgomery
Lane Drainage Improvements project, will be best served by a temporary road closure
at milepost 0.25. The Department of Public Works has analyzed the closure and
determined that a road closure is appropriate for this project,
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: Road closure will increase safety for the
motoring public and workers, and allow the work to be completed in a shorter time
period. Given the location, availability of alternate routes, and advance warning to
the public and motorists through signage, road closure is the best alternative,
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: No impact.
Recommendation: The Board is requested to approve the road closure, and return an
original resolution to Public Works for further processing.
