The tentative agreement should provide a historic wage increase and an extension of the collective bargaining process and master contract through January 15, 2025. This resolution will avert an ongoing halt on cargo movement at ports located along the East Coast and Gulf Coast, thereby avoiding greater interruptions to national supply chains and more significant economic impacts that would be harmful to American consumers and businesses alike. The Directive responds to reporting from the National Transit Database (NTD) estimating that assaults against transit workers rose by 120 percent between 2013 and 2021. Transit agencies must respond to certain provisions of the Directive by December 26, 2024, and FTA intends to host a webinar soon to provide additional information on the requirements. * FTA updated and consolidated several of its circulars to incorporate provisions from the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act (PL 114-94), Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (PL 117-58), Uniform Administrative Requirements for Federal Awards, and current agency policies and procedures.
