Apply by Oct 7!Good afternoon, Are you interested in representing the community’s voice and being part of making Jefferson County safer and healthier for everyone? Apply now to join the Jefferson County Board of Health as a non-elected member, Consumer of Public Health. “Consumer of Public Health” means the category of persons consisting of county residents who have self-identified as having faced significant health inequities or as having lived experiences with public health-related programs. The Board of Health oversees efforts to protect and improve the public’s health by providing leadership that shapes Jefferson County Public Health’s approach to policies and programs and improves the well-being of our community. In addition to meeting the qualifications of an applicant’s selected category, the Board is also required to consider the following factors in selecting a nonelected Board-member. Persons selected based on the applications will then be offered an interview-opportunity. Once all interviews are completed, the Board will make recommendations for appointment. Occasionally, there may be special meetings. The Board may also form subcommittees to study a particular issue.
