Naming a Private Road
Craig Heights Lane or
Craig Estates or
Craig Hill Road
. WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name a private road,
as shown on attached map (Exhibit "B"), either Craig Heights Lane or Craig Estates or Craig Hill
Road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow fol" addressing
along the road; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently four addresses assigned at
milepost 0.26 Right Craig Rd; and
WHEREAS, notification was sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and
WHEREAS, Fire District #5 supports all three name choices and Jeff Com 911 supports
the name choices Craig Heights Lane and Craig Estates;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the road be named Craig Heights Lane.
ADOPTED THIS 9th DAY OF JUNE, 2008.

The following are my comments concerning Road Naming Petitions received.
Parcel #7022730 13-Rob VandeWeghe
Our choices would be either Stage Coach Lane or Logger Lane. Little Lane is too similar with Little
Quil Road off of Lords Lake Loop also within the Quilcene Postal District.
Parcel #001173016-etc/Justin Clouse-etc
Our first choice would be Woodduck Way. Night Owl is very similar with Nighthawk Ridge also
within PT Postal District and Lost R Way would always be missed spelled within the systems (if this is a
qualifying reason).
Parcel #902042021-etc/Steve Fry-etc
We thought having two roads with very similar names would be confusing, especially in an emergency
situation; however, if Chief Wilson has no objection, I have no other comments.

Naming a private road - Steve & Sherry Fry, Petitioners
Statement of Issue: A property owner has submitted a petition to name a private road giving
the following three name choices: Craig Heights Lane, Craig Estates and Craig Hill Rd, This
road, as shown on Exhibit liB" of the resolution, is located at milepost ,26 Right on Craig Rd,
Gardiner,
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: There are four properties located on Craig Rd
milepost ,26 Right. Petitioner has requested the road be named in accordance with the
Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance #2-0401-91 (JCC 12.20), Notices
were mailed to all adjacent property owners and affected agencies. Jeff Com 911 supports
two name choices; FD #5 supports all three name choices. The Assessor's Office supports the
Fire District's recommendation. No other comments were received. In accordance with JCC
12.20.260, the Board is asked to consider the road name choices given, together with the
comments received by the affected agencies and to accept one of the choices, The Board
may choose to deny the petition and return it to the petitioner for resubmission with new
name choices.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None
Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of County
Commissioners review the attached exhibits and name the road Craig Heights Lane.
