COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THROUGHOUT
OVERVIEW
Jefferson County recognizes the need to address climate change,
which has the potential to severely impact our community in the
future. As part of the 2025 Periodic Update, we are developing a
new Climate Resilience Element for our Comprehensive Plan. This
new element will provide a long-term vision for addressing current
and future climate impacts.
This planning effort will identify effective and equitable climate
actions for us to take. The intent is to make decisions that are
consistent with our shared goals for the entire community.
Why Participate?
Build resilience to
climate impacts
Protect and conserve
resource lands
Maintain rural character
and protect our natural
environment
Save money long-term
by protecting assets
Support healthy, livable
communities
Encourage a sustainable
local economy
CLIMATE ELEMENT
The new element will
identify goals and policies to
address climate change and
increase resiliency to climate
impacts within the County's
Comprehensive Plan.
