You’ll hear what’s new in the world of Progressive Rock, with a touch of Jazz-Rock Fusion, Psych/Space, Avant, and Desert/Doom thrown into his aural stew. Shows often include a “Golden Tracks Album Feature” which highlights classic music turning 50 years old. October 13/14 Show #588 ("Back On Track?") – Mike gets to kick off the KPTZ Fall Fundraiser EARLY Sunday morning. Will he tone things down? It's highly doubtful! October 20/21 Show #589 (“Autumnity”) – Mike plays music to ease you into the new season. Well, 'ease' may not be the most accurate word, but hey, it IS ProgTracks, right? October 27/28 Show #590 (“Halloween 2024”) – Mike plays hellishly good tunes for the holiday that ProgTracks fits best (although it's sometimes difficult to distinguish the Halloween shows from the XMAS shows). UNLACED STRINGS with host Gail Pruitt Sunday, 10am to noon It’s that time of year (again!) when Gail Pruitt returns as show host and producer, beginning on Sunday, September 29. Nathan describes it as “a titillating tour of a time that never was.” Part burlesque and part horror show — participants start off at a villainous “spookeasy” called “The Billy Club” (aka Bridget’s Loft). The actors skimpy costumes are R rated — not X rated. Pre-covid there was a version of The Haunted Bordello at the Old Consulate Inn, which is owned by Nathan and wife Cindy. Kommuna Lux is on tour to raise funds and awareness of the war in Ukraine. I will be raising funds for KPTZ. Looking forward to our community’s support. You'll hear all of the greats from the classic '60s-'70s reggae era, including King Tubby, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Augustus Pablo and of course Bob Marley, plus ska from The Skatalites, Prince Buster, The Specials and so much more. THE FRONT PORCH with host Eileen Deutsch Saturday 9:30-11am Host Eileen Deutsch brings her eclectic mix of great music to KPTZ. Her show, The Front Porch, will feature folk music in all of its various aspects including premier selections from the worlds of Americana, bluegrass, contemporary and vintage singer/songwriters, as well as many hybrid variations with elements of folk, both domestic and abroad. When Eileen isn't curating her selections for The Front Porch, you can find her doing plein air art work, caring for her canines, or working on endless projects at her Port Townsend home. She's excited to welcome you to The Front Porch! SING IT, SISTER! Saturday 11am-Noon Celebrating women's voices in all their infinite variety, focusing on positive and empowering messages.
