In my free time I enjoy all things outd000rs(fishing, hiking, hunting, camping, boating,gathering,etc.)My area of interest is certainly based around protection of critical and enviromentally important habitats for all flora and fauna in this beautiful place we get to call home! Problems I see are invasive species mainly ivy and black berry, I'd prefer to see removed with manual labor. Clint Cole is recommended to an initial 4-year term to represent Open Interest--Anadromous Fish, and Laurie de Koch is recommended to fill an unexpired term ending March 29, 2025 and represent District#3. ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S: We advertised three vacancies for the Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee (CFCOC)from August 14`hto September 6th; one vacancy to represent District 3 and two vacancies to represent Open Interests. Mr. Cole and Ms. de Koch both responded to the ad prior the September 6th, 2024 deadline. On September 20th and October 2"', the program coordinator, clerk, and two committee members interviewed Ms. de Koch and Mr. Cole in person for this volunteer position. Mr. Cole is a resident of District#3 living in Quilcene. He holds a bachelor's degree in Fisheries Sciences from the University of Alaska SE. He currently works in aquaculture for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. In his free time, he enjoys all things outdoors including fishing, hiking, hunting, camping, boating, and gathering. Ms. de Koch is a local business owner and resident of District#3 living in Quilcene. She has an extensive background in non-profit management, formerly serving as founder and Executive Director of a Seattle- based music education program. In her free-time she enjoys hiking, camping, and gardening, and she is an avid reader and music listener. The interview committee highly recommends Mr. Cole and Ms. de Koch to serve on the Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for appointing Mr. Cole and Ms. de Koch to the CFFCOC.
