Thank for being here for the 2024 Evergreen Election Edition Special. Ballots arrive this week, so it's time for us to make our plans to grab them, fill them out with the best choices
for the environment, and get them back in the mail or to a ballot dropbox by electiobn day, November 5th.
In this email, you'll learn a bit about what's on the ballot and who Sierra Club Washington State is supporting - as well as the statewide initiatives we're opposing. It's a critical
election - and environmental justice and our progress towards a clean, sustainable future are truly at stake in this election. Don't sit this one out!
We've got plenty of opportunities to volunteer over the coming weeks so sign up and make sure our state's best environmental advocates - Sierra Club WA members! - are ready to make their
voices heard.

I-2066 - VOTE NO
I-2066 is a broad and dangerous initiative that would make energy bills more expensive and raise costs for all. This measure would be a step backward on the path to clean energy and
utilities - preventing local towns and cities from making decisions that work best for them, threatening health protections against harmful air pollution, and jeopardizing energy efficiency
programs and rebates.

I-2117 is a mega-millionaire funded campaign with an empty promise of reduced energy and gas costs. This measure will have costly consequences and threaten tens of thousands of jobs,
including rolling back funding for wildfire management, slashing billions from transportation and infrastructure investments, and undercut programs that support sustainable farming
while putting groundwater, streams, and lakes at risk.

pollution, and secure meaningful protections for our natural resources in the face of national rollbacks.
Ferguson is committed to advancing our climate action goals and keeping Washington in the lead with clean energy. He has also committed to effectively implementing the historic agreement
with the Biden administration for Columbia Basin salmon. Ferguson has proven to be the champion we need to fight the ongoing climate crisis as the next Governor of Washington.

Commissioner of Public Lands
Sierra Club is excited to endorse Dave Upthegrove for Commissioner of Public Lands based on his qualifications and vision to navigate the Department of Natural Resource's considerable
environmental challenges and new opportunities.
At the state and county levels, Dave has helped to reduce carbon pollution, doubled funding for salmon recovery, protect mature forests, and more. Along with his vision of environmental
justice, a commitment to good jobs, a strong rural economy, wildfire prevention, expanding recreational opportunities, honoring treaty rights, and a focus on combating climate change,
Upthegrove is the best choice for Commissioner for Public Lands.
