Hi, Wendy,
I mentioned this to Kate, and she suggested I send this to you. The attached flyer provides instructions to voluntarily share medical information with emergency services including your
location when calling from a cell phone. That was the part I was glad to know. When I mentioned how pizza delivery can know from your phone but emergency services can’t, they explained
to me that agreeing to the terms of service for delivery allows them to know your location. A government entity including emergency services can’t know your location from your phone
unless you grant permission.
Here’s the information online. Emergency Health Profile Residents in Jefferson County can voluntarily share medical information with Jeffcom 911 in case of an emergency when 911 is called
from your mobile phone.

For my iPhone, it says” When you call or text emergency services, your location and encrypted Medical ID information are sent to Apple. Apple uses your location to check if the Enhanced
Emergency Data service is supported in your area. If so, Apple forwards your information to a partner for delivery to emergency services.” I’d already set this up, but now I know that
my location will be shared so long as I keep my settings to Share During Emergency Call.
I obtained the attached handout at 2024 Fire & Rescue Fest on October 12th. It was a fun day!
