Following is a schedule preview of planning-related agenda items in November and December involving three legislative packages for your consideration and action before the end of the
year. The three subjects are:
1. compliance with SB 5290;
2. the 2024 Comprehensive Plan Amendment Docket; and
3. three resolutions pertaining to the 2025 Periodic Update (CPP amendments, population projection, and public participation).
BoCC Agenda dates and times
* 11/12 (Tues due to Mon holiday) – workshop re: county compliance with permit process requirements in Senate Bill (SB) 5290 (RCW 36.70B Local Project Review Act) – 2:00p
* 11/18 – public hearing & resolution adoption re: amendments to Countywide Planning Policy (CPP) and resolution adoption re: selecting 2045 population projection for 2025 Periodic Update
per Growth Management Act (with public comment prior to action) and resolution adoption re: public participation plan for 2025 Periodic Update (with public comment prior to action)
– hearing at 3:00p
* 11/18 – workshop & hearing notice approval re: 2024 Amendment Docket for Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Code (UDC) – following the 3:00p hearing (above); listed as “no
set time”
* 12/9 – public hearing & ordinance adoption re: 2024 Amendment Docket for Comprehensive Plan and UDC – hearing at 11:00a
* 12/16 – public hearing & ordinance adoption re: UDC amendments to implement SB 5290 and resolution adoption re: compliance with SB 5290 (with public comment prior to action) – hearing
at 11:00a
Note that there will be a consent agenda requests on 11/4 and 11/25 for approval of public hearing notices for the hearings anticipated on 11/18 and 12/16, respectively.
