Last week, we celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP), marking decades of progress in preserving our state’s natural spaces. Although you may not have been able to join us in person at Stoup Brewing, your support remains essential to our work. At the event, we reflected on how the WWRP has transformed Washington over the years—helping secure more than $2 billion in funding to create and protect 1,700 parks, trails, and wildlife habitats across the state. Speakers Bob Ferguson and Dave Reichert also paid tribute to Governor Dan Evans, highlighting his legacy of bipartisan collaboration, which continues to inspire the Coalition's mission today. We were honored to recognize individuals leading the way in outdoor equity and innovation. Chevon Powell received the Joan Thomas Award for her efforts to create more inclusive outdoor spaces, and New Cowgirl Camp was presented with the Forward Award for their trailblazing contributions.
