Home My WebLink About076 07 cc: Pi) ? <<\\1-\'\01 \(ecOJ Q STATE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY OF JEFFERSON In the Matter of: } Resolution No. 76-07 Naming six (6) Roads } WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received six (6) petitions (Exhibits "A1" through "A6") to name roads as shown on the attached map (Exhibit "B"); and WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on these roads; and WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish these road names, pursuant to the Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow for addressing along the roads; and WHEREAS, research has shown that there is currently one (1) address assigned along the roads; and WHEREAS, notifications were sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and WHEREAS, emergency response is the basis for naming these private roads and East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (FPD#1 ) and Jeff Com are the largest stakeholders; and WHEREAS, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue and Jeff Com responded in support of naming these roads as follows; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the roads as shown on the attached Exhibit "B" are now named as follows: 1 : Jacobsen Drive 2: Goldenview Drive 3: Idlewood Lane 4: N. For what it's worth, my preference would be Copper Ridge Dr., as opposed to Copperidge Dr. That being said, Copperidge is still preferable to the other two choices. Goldenview Dr. sounds like a good name for the road to a retirement home (I'm not ready for that!) and Sunridge Dr. - well that doesn't do anything for me either. There are plenty of Sun-something Streets. Copper Ridge conveys some of the richness of color one can see from the ridge as the sun comes up and it makes it through spell check. Fischbach, County Administrator From: Frank Gifford, Public Works Director g~ Agenda Date: August 13, 2007 Subject: Naming six roads Statement of Issue: Tukey Investments, LLC has submitted six (6) petitions to name roads in the "Oak Hills" development in the plat of Irondale Acre Tracts. Addresses cannot be assigned from the platted road names because they are presidential names and would duplicate road names already being used in Port Townsend. The roads, with the name choice suggestions, are shown on the attached diagram. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: These roads are being named in accordance with the Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance (#2-0401-91, JCC 12.20) which restricts the duplication of road names in order to assure prompt emergency response., Notices for all six petitions were mailed to adjacent property owners and affected agencies on July 9, 2007. The primary road being named begins at milepost 1.52 right on Oak Bay Road and runs westerly for a distance of 0.33 miles, ending at the point of intersection with the second road being named. The following name choices were given for this road: Jacobsen Drive, Sunnyfield Drive and Tailwind Drive. East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (FPD #1) and Jeff Com both' support the first name choice of JACOBSEN DRIVE. No other comments were received. The second road being named begins at milepost 0.33 left on the primary road and runs southerly for a distance of 0.26 miles. The following name choices were suggested: Goldenview Drive, Copperidge Drive and Sunridge Drive. East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (FPD #1) and Jeff Com both ,support the first name choice of GOLDENVIEW DRIVE; one adjacent property owner sent a response expressing their desire for the road to maintain the platted road name (Lincoln St) and another submitted a letter indicating their desire for the road to be named with the second name choice, but Department of Public Works o Consent Agenda Page 2 of 3 spelled as two words (Copper Ridge) rather than one. Copperidge Drive was not the first choice of the petitioner or emergency responders. No other comments were received. The third road being named begins at milepost 0.25 right from the second road and runs westerly for a distance of 0.12 miles. The following name choices were given: Third Trail Road, Mossy Oak Road and Idlewood Lane. East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (FPD #1) and Jeff Com find the third choice of IDLEWOOD LANE to be the most acceptable. No other comments were received. The fourth road being named begins at milepost 0.12 center from the third road being named. This road extends northerly for 0.14 miles and southerly for 0.06 miles from its intersection with the third road. The following name choices were suggested: White Fir Way, Silent Fir Way and Sterling Fir Way. East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (FPD #1) prefers the third name choice, but is agreeable to the first name choice and Jeff Com and one adjacent property owner both support the first name choice of WHITE FIR WAY. No other comments were received. Following discussion with FPD#1, Public Works recommends that this road be named with "North" and "South" directionals. The fifth road being named is located at milepost 0.26 right on Washington Lane and runs northerly for a distance of 0.14 miles. The following name choices were given: Sweet Home Road, Hollow Tree Road and Spotted Fawn Road. East Jefferson Fire- Rescue (FPD#1) and Jeff Com support the first name choice of Sweet Home Road; while one response was received from an adjacent property owner who will be addressed on this road stating that they prefer the second choice of Hollow Tree Road, this was not the first choice of the petitioner or emergency responders. No other comments were received. The sixth road being named is located at milepost 0.38 right on Washington Lane and runs northerly for a distance of 0.14 miles. The following name choices were given: Willowbrooke Lane, Shadowbrooke Lane and Trailhead Road. East Jefferson Fire- Rescue (FPD #1) and Jeff Com are both agreeable to the second name choice of SHADOWBROOKE LANE. One adjacent property owner, who will not be addressed from this road, submitted a letter stating their preference for "Trailhead Road" - this choice was unacceptable to Jeff Com. No other comments were received. In accordance with JCC 12.20.260, the Board is asked to consider the road name choices together with the comments received from the affected agencies and adjacent property owners and accept one of the name choices for each of the six roads.
