Fischbach, County Administrator From: Frank Gifford, Public Works Director ~ August 20, 2007 Agenda Date: Subject: Naming a road Statement of Issue: Tukey Investments, LLC has submitted a petition to name a road in the "Oak Hills" development in the plat of lrondale Acre Tracts. Addresses cannot be assigned from the platted road name because it is a presidential name and would duplicate a road name already being used in Port Townsend. The road, with the name choice suggestions, is shown on the attached diagram. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: This road is being named in accordance with the Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance (#2-0401-91, JCC 12.20) which restricts the duplication of road names in order to assure prompt emergency response. Notices were mailed to adjacent property owners and affected agencies on July 9, 2007. In accordance with JCC 12.20.260, the Board is asked to consider the road name choices together with the comments received from the affected agencies and adjacent property owners and accept one of the name choices for each of the six roads. The Board may choose to deny any or all of the petitions and return them to the petitioner for resubmission with new name choices. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of County Commissioners review the attached exhibits and name the road Kingfisher Place.
