Good morning all!
I hope this finds everyone well and in good health.
We are getting to that time of year again and I am hearing from our partners the need for Jefferson County to have an intentional and concerted effort to strategize for a Point in Time
(PIT) Count for 2025 providing us the most accurate data possible. The count for 2025 is scheduled to be held during the week of January 30.
For those of you new to the PIT this year the Point in Time (PIT) count is an annual count of people experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness carried out on one night in January
(rural counties are typically allowed a week to collect the data). Data collected just doesn't provide a picture of the unique landscape of homelessness in Washington or our county,
it also informs policy and can have an effect on the funds that get allocated to our area for addressing homelessness.
I would love to connect with all of you (please invite anyone you feel should be included that I may have missed) and start preparing with some strategy sessions. Strategy sessions will
consist of looking at and plotting a map, considering any gaps in past PIT counts and finding ways to address those gaps, training sessions and a webinar watch party, and volunteer
recruitment.
Please respond to the attached poll for the first strategy meeting. We can discuss ongoing meeting days from there.
I am excited to collaborate with all of your and draw on your expertise to build the best possible PIT for our county.
If you have any questions at all, feel free to let me know.
Poll: Please pick the option that best suits your schedule for the first PIT Planning Meeting. <https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=t4zP2WZDtkKwS7-PUgJ1vIPKtAfb3GZFrM5_NEEEIBtUQjBHMVF
