Naming a Private Road

Pure Rd
WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name a private road,
as shown on attached map (Exhibit "B"), either Hectors Way or Toad Rd or Pure Rd; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently four addresses assigned at
milepost 1.31 Right, Leland Valley Rd W ; and
WHEREAS, notification was sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and
WHEREAS, Fire District #2 and Jeff Com support the name choice of Hectors Way;
WHEREAS, no responses were received from adjacent property owners;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the road be named Hectors Way.
ADOPTED THIS 10thDAy OF March, 2008.

Naming a private road - James & Sandra Munn, Petitioners
Statement of Issue: A property owner has submitted a petition to name a private
road giving the following three name choices: Hectors Way, Toad Rd and Pure Rd,
This road, as shown on Exhibit "B" of the resolution, is located at milepost 1.31 Right
on Leland Valley Rd W, Quilcene,
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: There are currently four (4) addresses
assigned at milepost 1.31 Right as well as four (4) lots that will require addresses once
those properties are developed. A road name is required in accordance with the
Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance #2-0401-91 (JCC12,20),
Notices were mailed to all adjacent property owners and affected agencies; Fire
Protection District # 2 and JeffCom 911 support the first name choice of Hectors Way.
No other comments were received. In accordance with JCC 12.20,260, the Board is
asked to consider the road name choices given, together with the comments received
by the affected agencies and accept one of the choices. The Board may choose to
deny the petition and return it to the petitioner for resubmission with new name
choices,
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None
Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of
County Commissioners review the attached exhibits and name the road Hectors Way.
