Dear Chairman Allen, and Vice Chairman Tom:
By November 13, 2024, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners expect to have a final
version of their response to your August 15, 2024 letter written on behalf of the Jamestown S'Klallam(JST)
and Port Gamble S'Klallam (PGST) Tribes, and their consortium, the Point No Point Treaty Council
(PNPTC). November 13th is one day after our next legislative session.
We wanted you to know that we are aware of the reasons for the delay. Unfortunately, the delay is
unavoidable. A complicating factor is that is our board cannot talk to each other privately without violating
the Washington Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 42.30 RCW, even in the presence of legal counsel.
We sincerely apologize that we have not been able to provide our response to your August 15, 2024 letter
sooner.
