Dear Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners,
I’d like to express appreciation to the BOCC and the Planning Commission for acknowledging and accounting for the interests of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe on the many revisions of
the SMP and for implementing many of the suggestions provided by Jamestown staff. Tribal treaty rights and sovereignty are well represented and we’re supportive of sending the November
1st version of the SMP, including the November 15th suggestions from the advisory committee to Ecology as written.
If there are further revisions, our staff would like to be notified for review.
I will also include the Tribe’s stance in the public hearing today on 1/8/2024.
