SUBMISSIONS, REVIEW HEARINGS

RESOLUTION NO. 30-08
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.40.070, the Jefferson County Board of
Commissioners shall meet the first week in October to hold budget hearings for the purpose of
adoption of the Jefferson County budget for 2009; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.40.010, the Jefferson County Auditor shall
notify in writing each elective or appointive County official to file with her on or before the 2nd
Monday of August 2008, an estimated budget for the ensuing year, for submission to the County
Administrator on or before the 1 st Tuesday in September, 2008;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED, that the 2009 budget reviews shall be
held with the Department Heads and Elected Officials as necessary during the month of
September and that during the first week in October (October 6-10) budget hearings shall be held
and upon conclusion of said hearings, the Jefferson County Budget for 2009 shall be adopted.

SUBJECT:
RESOLUTION NO. re: In the Matter of Establishing the Date for 2009
Budget Submissions, Review Hearings, and Final Adoption
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The 2009 budget hearings will be held the first week in October. As part of the budget process, the County is
required to adopt a resolution that establishes the dates for 2009 budget submissions, review hearings, and
final adoption.
ANALYSIS:
The attached resolution outlines these dates as follows: submissions to the Auditor by the 2nd Monday of
August, 2008, an estimated budget to the County Administrator by I st Tuesday in September, final hearings
October 6-10, 2008, and final adoption of the 2009 Budget after the conclusion of the hearings.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The 2009 budget.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board approve and sign the resolution.
