Frank Gifford, Public Works Director ~J1 To: Agenda Date: August 25, 2008 Subject: Naming a private road - James & Marsha Eades, Petitioners Statement of Issue: A property owner has submitted a petition to name a private road giving the following three name choices: Sandstone Ln, Rosewood Ln and Waterfall Ln (Resolution Exhibit "A"). This road, as shown on Exhibit "B" of the resolution, is located at milepost 0.05 Right on Louisa St, Port Townsend. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: Petitioner has requested the road be named in accordance with the Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance #2- 0401-91 (JCC 12.20). Two Secondary Petitioners have also signed the petition (Zach Eades and Lloyd and Regina Belvill). Property owners are developing homes on adjacent parcels that will require addressing off this road once they are built. Notices were mailed to all adjacent property owners and affected agencies. East Jefferson Fire Rescue and the Port Townsend Postal DisVict support the first and third name choices; Jeff Com 911 supports all three name choices. No other comments were received. In accordance with JCC 12.20.260, the Board is asked to consider the road name choices given, together with the comments received by the affected agencies and accept one of the choices. The Board may choose to deny the petition and return it to the petitioner for resubmission with new name choices. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of County Commissioners review the attached exhibits and name the road Sandstone Ln.
