In the Matter of Cancellation
of Unclaimed Warrants

RESOLUTION NO. 61-08
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.22.100, registered or interest bearing County
warrants not presented within one year of the date of their call and other County warrants not
presented within one year of the date of their issue shall be canceled by the legislative authority
of the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Jefferson County Board of
County Commissioners, that the warrants specified in "Exhibit A" be canceled in compliance
with the above noted RCW; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the County Auditor and Treasurer shall cancel
all record of the warrants so as to leave the funds as if such warrant had never been drawn.
Approved and signed this 8th day of September , 2008.

NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON
Warrants of any municipal corporation not presented within one year of their issue shall be
cancelled by the passage of a resolution of the governing body. (Ref: RCW 36.22.100)
In order to comply with the referenced RCW, I am requesting a resolution from you to cancel
the outstanding warrants listed on the attached Exhibit A.

CONSENT AGENDA ~ f(;
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Warrants not presented for payment within one year of issuance are to be cancelled.
(RON 36.22.100)
ANALYSIS:
Treasurer's office staff has attempted to contact payees to reissue warrants for payment without success.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon cancellation, un-cashed warrant monies revert back to the fund from which they were drawn.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the cancellation of listed warrants.
