Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. Hello Commissioners— We wanted to check back in with all of you on this (presumably pretty simple and straightforward) recommendation for providing the name Olympic Discovery Trail for the to-be-determined trail connection from Hood Canal Bridge to a connecting point somewhere along the existing ODT. The attached letter, provided several weeks ago, amplifies the thinking, and describes the process, to explain the recommendation. With the extensive related regional trail planning soon to start under the RAISE/PS2P grant, and the 2025 Comp Plan update process, it’s abundantly clear that this name question should be resolved as soon as possible. We remain interested in knowing if there’s anything we can do to further the process along and would be happy to discuss this further if that would be helpful. Thanks very much for your consideration and action. Jeff B. In turn, you asked us to provide you with our recommendation. The attached letter provides that recommendation and we hope you will take it under prompt consideration and make whatever sort of official declaration you would deem appropriate. As all these RAISE/PS2P projects get under way, it will be important, for many reasons, to eliminate ambiguity and potential confusion. We hope the attached letter provides you with sufficient information to proceed with doing so. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to assist you in this process. Yours, Jeff B.
