G. Brown. A group of property owners from Paradise Bay appeared regarding>drainage problems in tha.t area. Norm Lyle and Mr. S idne y Cartwright s poke in beha If of the attending property owners. Eng. Becker will check into the feasibility of putting in a drainage ditch to solve the problem. The group also gave thanks to Dave Cunningham and Randy Durant for their time and effort spent on appearing before the community group. Bob Goehring, Director, MH/MR Center, appeared regarding requests from the Lagoon Rest Home and Jefferson General Hospital for the services of a social worker. He pr~sented agree- ments whereby the county would provide a social worker for the Rest Home for 8 hours per week and the hospital for 12 hours per week. The county would be paid $6.00 per hour for the services. Moved by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by Commissioner Mercer to approve and sign agreements to provide said services. Resolutions will be drafted to ratify both agreements and for a budget extension for the MH/MR Center. Plan. Dir. Cunningham presented plans for a geologic mapping project for Eastern Jefferson County. Total cost of the project is $6,000. The Dept. of Natural Resources has signed an agreement with the county acknowledging the fact that the county is unable to condQct the project at this time and therefore, they willperfonn the contract services. .Initial cost to the county will be $3,495, which willbe covered by a state grant in the aIIDunt of $4,500, leaving an actual! cost to the county of $1,405. It was moved by. Carmissioner Mercer and seconded by Carmissioner O'Meara to approve the project. A resolution will be drafted for a budget extension for the Planning Dept. Leon Carlson and Verle A. Olmsted appeared regarding fee patented lands on Indian Reservations within the county. They request the county not give up their jurisdiction over such . lands . / After much discussion, the Board asked PrOs. Attny. Howard to obtain an opinion pertaining to this matter fran the Attorney General's Office. Jack Mowlds and Aron Sheldon appeared re: Board's detennination on Shoreline Management pennit for the Bait Herring FishennaIl' s Association. Board advised. that a final decision' has not been made on this application. Eng. Becker requested pennission to call for bids for 3- 5 cubic yard dump trucks and one flail type highway mower. Pennission was granted by motion. of Carmissioner Mercer and second by Carmissioner O'Meara. Motion by. Ccmnissioner O'Meara, seconded by Ccmnissioner Mercer to approve and sign call for bids for the improvement of roads at the Port Townsend Sanitary Landfill, and the Quilcene and Clearwater Drop Box Stations. Bids are to be opened and read June 16th. Request for buildingpennit extension was received fron James Casper. Motion by Carmis- sioner O'Meara and seconded.to Ccmnissioner Mercer to approve. Daryl and Janice. Hedman sulmitted a petition for the sale of county real estate for lot 5, block 15, of the plat of Elkins Addition to Hadlock. After discussing the possibilities of future developnent of the property by the county , it was moved by Carmissioner 0.' Meara and seconded by Ccmnissioner Mercer to raoove the lot fron sale. ri~ petitions for property tax refund were approved and signed as follows: (1) P.A.S.&.I... ~112.82 - over payment of taxes; and (2) Lawrence Aries $88.95 - failed to fill out ex.....
