Angeles Tom McClanahan, Quilcene Bud Winterburn, Oak. Harbor W.C. McKasson, Inc., Lilliwaup General Construction, Pt. Townsend Engineer's Estimate Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, seconded by Eng. Becker to check bids for possible errors. After checking, Becker returned to advise that bids were correct as presented. Motion by Commiss~oner Mercer, seconded by Commissioner O'Meara to award bid to General Construction Co. as low bidder fo:r;-the amount of $13,141.80 pending approval of the Dept. of Ecolo~y. Aberdeen $41,325.00 Engineer's Estlmafe $42,340.00 Motion by CommIssioner O'Meara, seconded by Commissioner Mercer for Eng. Becker to check totals for possible errors. After checking Becker returned to advise that totals were correct as presented. Moved by Commissioner Mercer and seconded by Commissioner O'Meara to award the bid to Interstate Asphalt as low bidder for the amount of $41,325.00. 'K Herbert Covert appeared re: (1) Damage to Thorndyke Road -- he advised that heavy equipment had been driven over the new road causing considerable damage. Eng.. Becker informed that he had contacted Pope & Talbot, whose trucks had done the damage, and they will make restitution. (2) Water District No. 3 .-.... advised the Board that the PUD is digging a well on the Coyle Peninsula. (3) Requested to go on record as being against Marine Life Association's application for a Shoreline Management Permit. Pros. Attny. Howard submitted a resolution for authorization of payment and a copy of their 'Claim for Refund'. Moved by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by Commissioner Mercer to approve and sign petition for refund and Resolution No. 26-75, as follows: Petition for property tax refund was also received from Marjorie L.Streeter as a result of property being purchased July 16, 1973 and therefore non assessable. Moved by Commissioner Mercer and seconded by Commissioner O'Meara to approve and sign petition. Board approved and l:?igned Resolution No. 27-75, CRP No. 390; and Resolution <; :No. 28-75, CRP No. Q~=-75) Pros. Attny. Howard submitted a letter and resolution re: Appointment of Deputy Coroners, and Coroners Rules. Requests consent to e~ployment of Chief John Doubek, Deputy Sheriff Lee Smith and Deputy Sheriff Bill Booth as Deputy Coroners to simplyify the duties of that position. A fourth Deputy Coroner will be designated as soon as the new Deputy Sheriff for the west side has been employed. He also reccmnencied additional bonding for $5,000. Moved by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by Commissioner Mercer to accept recommendation of appointment and sign Resolution No. 2~-75, as follows: Board approved extension of Regional Law and Justice contract with Program Planning & Grant Administration beginning July 1, 1975 through the 30th day of September, 1975. Fee is not to exceed $1,875 and is to be paid from Law & Justice Planning Grant funds through,Clallam County Auditor's Office. Doug Shehan, Representative, Burrows Corp., presented price quotations for the mini-computer (L8000) which has the capibility to handle Budgetary, Revenue and General Ledger accounting, Payroll, and Voter Registration. Price - $27,410.76. Current Service Agreement is $2,086.40, and an eighty- four month lease through an independent leasing company is approximately $490 per month. No determination by the Board at this time. Board signed contract with Waste Systems International as per bid opening of April 28, 1975 and awarded May 5, 1975. The remaining correspondence was reviewed with little or no comment as follows: Letter from the Secretary, Quinault Property Owners Assn. re: Juris- diction over Fee Patent Land. Letter from Alan C. Keimig re: Tri-Cities Area Multiservice Center. Notice from Teamsters Local No. 589 re: Reopening of Contract for 1976. Copies of letters from Commissioners of Kitsap, Lewis, Chelan, Pacific, Lincoln and Ferry Counties to Governor Evans re: Veto of Senate Bill 2713. (Jefferson Co. Commissioners also submitted a letter of disapproval.) 1975 Populatton estimates from the Office of Program Planning and Fiscal Management. Copy of letter to the Olympic Air Pollution Control Authority, from Eng~ Becker re: Request for Burning Variance until Sept. 15, 1975.
