Thursday November 21st from 5-6:30 pm, at the Cotton Building in Port Townsend (607 Water St, Port Townsend, WA 98368). Brought to you by Jefferson County Public Health and funded by the Washington State Department of Ecology. This year’s seminar includes presentations from the Dept of Ecology, Port of Port Townsend, and DNR’s Derelict Vessel Removal Program. * Come on down and find the answers to questions like: “How do I know if my waste is hazardous?” “How should I be properly managing my hazardous wastes?” and “Where am I allowed to send my waste?” from the Dept. of Ecology’s Hazardous Waste Compliance Inspector, Garret Peck. * Learn about Best Management Practices (BMPs) in and around the Port and how to keep potential contaminants out of our waterways from the Port of Port Townsend’s Environmental Specialist, Kimberlie Webber. * Get current information on the state's key mechanism for addressing the problem of derelict or abandoned vessels in Washington's waters from the Derelict Vessel Removal Program’s Program Manager, Troy Wood. Attend to find out how you can qualify for free equipment such as: - spill kits - environmentally friendly parts washers - spill containment pallets - drum covers - locking funnels and…: - small change vouchers up to $500 to help make waste management a breeze!
