Edward Hawley ,City Street Superintendent, appeared to request the County give :Jutright, a
piece :Jf 'property, between Black Ball offices and Sims Way, desired by the City of Port Town-

Jim Engles, Chairman of the Fair Boa-rd, appeared regarding the .expansion of the Fair Grounds~.
Engles asked the proper procedure for acquiring property. He was advised the proposal should

The Board signed a 90ntract with Skagit Fencing C:Jmpany per bid award of December -Ist, for

Mr. Sbrm Josef Smole I. clockmaker of Bellevue ~ appeared re: Restoration of the'qourthouse
tower clock. After making a preliminary inspection of the clock, Smole. estimatedthe.repair
work t:J be dane w:)uldcost. the county about $1000 for parts ard labor and anadditiona-f$500
for the risk involved. The Board requested Mr. Smole submit a proposal.
Board approved and signed call for bids for one Theodolite and Specified Asse.ssories bbe
opened and read January 19th at 10:00 a .m. ~.
Bill Clark appeared to register acamplaint against the driveways not beingcl-eared of snbw.
in front of the fire de par.tme nt and the ambulance statiGn in Quilcene. Mr.Glarkfeels there
is no excuse for the snow not being cleared from the driveways.. He said this ,is nofthefirst
time this has occured, and the last t~me he cleared the snow himself. The Boardwtll di~cuss
the matter with Engineer Becker. Mr. Clark will also submit his complaint in writing to the Board.

-D.N.R. Proposal todesignate MO:Jringarea in Port Townsend Bay for tanksandbulkcarriers.
Planning DirectorCunningham will be in Olympia, December 17th, to attend <;i meeting in relation
to the D.N. R. proposal. The meeting is being held to acquaint the Planning Directors ,of the
various counties, with the latest developments on the proposal. Gunninghan will present, at this
meeting some of the matters of concern de,aling with the project presented at the'last Shoreline
Advisory Committee meetin.g.
The Planning Department received a call from Greg L:Jvelady, representive from theAll-Terrain
Vehicle Section of the Interagency Committee for OutdoGr Recreation, advising there are defic.-
ienties in the CGuntyATV Plan as a result, the C:JuntyPlan will,not be approved to receive ATV
funds for 1976. Cunningham suggested more work be done on the plan in order to have it ready
br the deadline set for funds in 1977.
Ge:Jrge C:Jtt:Jn advised Cunningham the pr:Jperty discussed at an earlier date; was under lease
to Cr:Jwn Zellerbach at this time. If the property is available at some other time, th13 Count~
would be welcome to use the property fora boat launch site. The problem atthe Hadlock ramp'
could ,possibly be c:Jrrected with the launch elevated and concrete piers placed under the ramp,
thus albwing the sand to pa s sunder the ramp .
The Board approved a building permit extension brDavid M. Gohn, Permit Number 1056.
