November 27, 1978
10:00 a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman Carroll M. Mercer with
all members present.
John Ackey, Computer Department Manager, appeared regarding
the NCR Equipment Order. The Board approved and signed the order for
the IMOS III, $7,567.20, the Printer Speed Increase, $2,775.17; and the
Replacement Processor and Disc Drive, $43,295.37.
David Johnston, Architect, reported to the Board the progress
of the soil testing at the Gardiner Community Center. The test results
in the northwest corner of the property were 6 minutes per inch, safely
within the acceptable rate. Johnston's Engineer calculated 310 lineal
feet would be required for a drainfield with the normal plumbing fixtures.
And with the use of the air flush toilets the drainfield would need only
171 lineal feet. Johnston concluded that the air flush fixtures would
leave replacement area for the drainfield.
Gael Stuart and Pete Simpson re: HUD Grant.
a copy of the budget proposal for the $500,000.00 Block
introduced Pete Simpson, the new Housing Rehabilitation
Jefferson Clallam Counties.
They brought in
Grant. Mr. Stuart
Director for
Dorthia Harrington asked the Board why the County is putting
in culverts on a road that is to be vacated. She said the culverts are
being put in on a road that Thousand Trails Camper Club intends to vacate.
The Board said they will check with the Engineers office on this matter.
Mrs. Twiggs appeared regarding her petition for the sale of
County property. The Board said that it wouldn't be until after the first
of the year before the County will have a sale.
Lois Smith reported to the Board about her County car being
wrecked. It belongs to Clallam County and Jefferson County is responsible
for the maintenance. The car's repair would exceed the value of the car
according to Ericksons estimates. It's being stored at Erickson Brothers
Garage until it can be taken to Port Angeles. The Board told Mrs. Smith
to have Ericksons take the car to the County Shop until Clallam County
decides what~ to be done with it.
