WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name a private road,
as shown on attached map (Exhibit "B"), either Ripley Creek Ln or Wildcat Way or Bobcat Ln; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow for addressing
along the road; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently three (3) addresses assigned at
milepost 1.05 right Ripley Creek Rd; and
WHEREAS, notification was sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and
WHEREAS, Fire District #2 supports naming this road for public and responder safety;
and,
WHEREAS, Fire District #2 supports the first two name choices and Jeff Com 911
supports the second name choice;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the road be named Wildcat Way.
ADOPTED THIS 24thDAY OF NOVEMBER, 2008.

Naming a private road - Meyer & Saunders, Petitioners
Statement of Issue: A property owner has submitted a petition to name a private
road giving the following three name choices: Ripley Creek Lane, Wildcat Way and
Bobcat Lane (resolution Exhibit "A"). This road, as shown on Exhibit "B" of the
resolution, is located at milepost 1.05 Right on Ripley Creek Road, Quilcene.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: There are currently three (3) addresses
assigned at milepost 1.05 right on Ripley Creek Road. Fire District #2 recommends
naming the road for public and responder safety in accordance with the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance #2-0401-91 (JCC 12.20). Notices
were mailed to all adjacent property owners and affected agencies; FD #2 supports
the first two name choices and Jeff Com 911 supports only the second name choice.
No other comments were received. In accordance with JCC 12.20.260, the Board is
asked to consider the road name choices given, together with the comments received
by the affected agencies and adjacent property owners and accept one of the
choices. The Board may choose to deny the petition and return it to the petitioner
for resubmission with new name choices.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None
Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of
County Commissioners review the attached exhibits and name the road Wildcat Way.
