Special Meeting of the Intergovernmental Collaborative Group (ICG)
Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Jefferson County Public Utility District (PUD) No. 1:
President/Commissioner Jeff Randall, Commissioner Dan Toepper, and Commissioner Kenneth Collins

Port of Port Townsend Board of Commissioners:
Commissioner Pam Petranek, and Commissioner Carol Hasse
Staff present: Executive Director Eron Berg
CALL TO ORDER: City of Port Townsend Deputy Mayor/ICG Rotating Chair Amy Randall called
the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. after establishing a quorum. Port Commissioner Pam Petranek framed
the special speaker topics.
PRESENTATION re: A shifting landscape – how microgrids, distributed energy resources,
alternative fuels, and electric vehicles are impacting the power system and how they can be used in
new ways: Pacific Northwest National Laboratory electrical engineer Frank Tuffner provided a
presentation and answered questions posed by ICG members.
PRESENTATION re: Carbon-Free Electricity Policies – Impacts and Perspectives: Benton Public
Utility District General Manager Rick Dunn provided a presentation and answered questions posed by
ICG members.
Q & A WITH THE PRESENTERS: Rotating Chair Howard opened the floor to allow for public
comments, and two comments were received.
NEXT STEPS and FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Members in attendance provided closing remarks.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Rotating Chair Howard adjourned the meeting at 7:06 p.m. until the
next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
