Michelle: RE: Public question on the SMP Draft release..........,We can't find the Nov. 18,2008, joint STAC & SPAC meeting minutes
on the shoreline website...can you direct us on where we can find a copy of this? They've not been completed yet. It's on my
list of things to do for this week, then I'll route a draft version past attendees for any corrections. I'll notify the
emaillist when the meeting notes are posted online.
Also, is the current shoreline designations that are being proposed in the Dec. 3, 2008, release still as what was shown on the 12/5/07
chart handed out "SED Length and Percentage: Existing vs. Prop posed" at the Dec. 4, 2007 STAC & SPAC meeting which shows the
existing "Natural" shoreline designation of 97,754 feet now being proposed at 459,180 feet of shoreline? Probably not - there
have been some changes. If not could you also direct us to the current chart? The slideshow from last week's 12/3
presentation to the joint Planning Commission - Board of County Commissioners workshop has a pie chart
showing the breakdown of SEDs. That's online at

don't know if we've recalculated the number of feet. Please keep in mind that while some proposed SEDs
have the same name as existing SEDs, the purpose and designation criteria are somewhat different, as per

Big news - the Preliminary Draft SMP (PDSMP) is now available online for viewing and download as a full
document (3.4 MB) or as individual articles. The shoreline maps are being posted as we speak... Hard copies will
be available tonight at the joint Planning commission - Board of County Commissioners informational workshop,
and by request here at DCD after that. Public review copies are provided to Jefferson County Library &
Bookmobile, the Forks Library, and here at our DCD Front Office.
This stand-alone document contains the staff proposal for amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and Unified
Development Code. Go to

The initial Planning Commission public comment period is open through January 30, 2009 and the first public
hearing is scheduled for January 21, 2009. Planning Commission will then make a recommendation to the Board
of County Commissioners, and WA Dept. of Ecology has the final approval. The new rules will likely take effect
in 2010. See the attached diagram.
