From: Barbara Blowers (mailto:waves@olympus.net] Sent: Saturday, January 17, 2009 5:21 PM To: #Long-Range Planning Subject: shoreline program Now I am speaking for myself as a resident of Beckett Point, where each of us just spent $30,000 to install a new sewage system. And we can now get permits to remodel and rebuild. BUT this new plan would not allow that. I need to put in a new garage; my garage has flooded 3 times in the last 6 years -- partly because the'point' has been damaged and the water is higher because of it and partly because the houe 2 down from me needs an actual bulkhead. I need a new garage that is 6 inches higher on the floor than the one I have -- and I'd like to have a 2-car garage so I have a place for my '67 VW -- along with my gret-grandma's trunks and my stuff from Japan. I may be able to get the garage permitted this year -- that is the plan. But I can do that because I know what you are all trying to do -- make it impossible for people to live on and enjoy their waterfront property. You in the Planning Commission MUST look out for all of us. You are our last best hope. Please study the esidential areas of the plan carefully. It is awful. Barbara Blowers 1
