As we are now in an open public comment period (12/3/08 -1/30/09) on our Preliminary Draft Shoreline Master Proaram proposal for Comprehensive Plan and Development Regulation amendments, your comments will be forwarded to the Planning Commission for their consideration. Public Comments are posted online at http://www.co.iefferson.wa.us/commdevelopment/ShorelineUpdate200S-9.htm#PublicComments.No reply is needed in response to this message. In response to your comments, the current SMP is an appendix to the development agreement and only applies to PLA property. Once the development agreement expires and a new one is negotiated, the new SMP may be in effect for PLA property. Other 'non-PLA' properties in the Port Ludlow area would be subject to the new SMP upon adoption. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Michelle McConnell, Associate Planner - LRP Lead Shoreline Master Program (SMP) Update Project Manager Direct: 360.379.4484 Web: http://www.co.iefferson.wa.us/commdevelopmentlShorelinePlanning.htm NEW OFFICE HOURS: 9 a - 4:30 p Monday - Thursday; Closed on Friday <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> NOTE: All e-mail sent to this address will be received by the Jefferson County e-mail system and are subject to Public Disclosure under Chapter 42.56 RCW. That doesn't seem to make sense to me in that the Development Agreement is between the County and the Developer and, in reading the Agreement, I find no finite references to Shoreline Management. Neither do the Master Declaration for South Bay or, to my knowledge, any of the Supplemental Declarations. Can you help me out in clarifying this peculiar situation? Why would Port Ludlow be excluded from a County ordinance when the Development Agreement applies to activities of the Developer? Tom McCay 437-2156 1
