My name is Ellen Anglin. My husband Doug and I own 6.8 acres on West Valley Rd. we purchased in 1974. The house we live in was. built by my maternal great grandfather around 1900. This property overlooks the 70 acre farm I was born and raised on. That farm was purchased by my paternal grandparents in 1919. My father, Wally',westergaard, was born on the farm in 192.. My parents farmed the land their entire lives, first as a jersey dairy farm ~nQm?which they sold cream, and later as a registered angus beef operation until my father's death in 2004. My mother, May Westergaard still lives on the farm. My sister, JUlie Boggs is currently running a registered angus beef ranch on the property. This is a brief history of my family's ties to this land. There are six children in this family whom are passionate about keeping it. In the 90 years my family has owned this land, no one has shown us any evidence we have done harm to our neighbors or the environment. We have drank water from shallow springfed surface wells and never has anyone become ill from it. We live a clean and simple life and are greatly concerned about losing our way of life and our rights to our land. We have been dedicated stewards of this land for 90 years and now people without names, whoID!have never set foot on this land feel they know what's best for all. We are not highly educated people, nor are we rich, but please don~t mistake our ignorance as stupidity. We have some- thing far more important, common sense and dee~ knowledge of what this county was before all the bu~eaucratlc government control. There are people whom own land here but don't live here. They pay taxes here but have'nt the right to vote and have a say in what happens to their property. They may have plans to retire here only to return to find their land non-conforming. How are their rights being protected? Please take this letter into consideration before you vote on something that deems our land worthless. Please take care- ful consideration in your decisions not to be influenced by those with nothing to lose! Ellen Anglin 1380 West Valley Rd. Chimacum, Wa. 98325 (360)732-4932 Thank You, GLOAL/ a1rL/
