I live on the water in Port Ludlow and deal with the constant threat of pollution and wildlife
endangerment because of the mining operations of Fred Hill. The Hood Canal can not afford
any additional threats (or potential threats) because of the greed of one business. Where are
our priorities? I urge you to amend the current preliminary draft of the
shoreline master plan to prohibit any mining activities on or near the Hood Canal shoreline. I
also
ask that you consider the same for any other shoreline that falls within the county's jurisdiction.
