J am writing to urge you to amend the current preliminary draft of the shoreline master plan. It should prohibit mining activies on the shoreline of Hood Canal and any other shoreline of state-wide siginificance within Jefferson County's jurisdiction. We must be diligent to conserve and protect the pristine watersay of Hood Canal. The citizens of not only Jefferson County, but also of Washington State are relying on you to protect the Hood Canal Shoreline which has been designated as a "Shoreline of State-Wide Significance." Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Alva Wright Butcher 30523-State Highway 3 NE Poulsbe, WA 98370 360-799-4706 1/26/2009
