Subject: Amend the shoreline master plan
Dear Commissioners:
Hood Canal remains a pristine waterway, virtually void of commercial shipping of any kind. Its
shoreline is not yet marred by industrialization. We should not allow private interests, whose
motives are purely financial, to destroy this gift of nature.
We urge you, the members of the Jefferson County Planning Commission to amend the
current preliminary draft shoreline master plan to prohibit mining activities on the shoreline of
Hood Cana and any other shoreline of state-wide significance within the county's jurisdiction.
