If this is true, I urge you to amend the plan to EXCLUDE those activities on the conservancy shoreline of Hood Canal. There is no question Hood Canalis already in critical condition, due to development and natural conditions that make it wlnerable to any new inputs. All the shoreline areas of Puget Sound are under extreme stress, due to poor policy decisions in the past. If we are ever able to reverse the damage to our irreplaceable marine and shoreline resources, the cost will be staggering. It is obvious that our most prudent choice should be to protect our pristine undeveloped shorelines now, while we still have some. Please do not allow massive industrial activities anywhere they do not already exist. I hope you will make the prudent choice of protecting this natural resource of state and national significance. The last thing we need on Hood Canalis an industrial activity that would undoubtedly cause further deterioration of its environment. We have a wonderful opportunity to close this contentious chapter in our public policy debate by making the most logical and sensible policy choices now. Please consider the long-term future of Jefferson County in your deliberations. Thank you for your service to our community. Sincerely, Larry Dennison 1224 Cleveland Street Port Townsend, WA 98368 1/26/2009
