Subject: Please do not allow industrialization of Hood Canal
I am writing to urge the Jefferson County Planning Commission to amend the current preliminary draft
shoreline master plan to prohibit mining activities on the shoreline of Hood Canal.
With so many of our natural environments ruined by careless use and exploitation it is imperative that
we protect the remaining pristine areas, such as this part of Hood Canal. Please do not allow the
pollution of the canal for the benefit of private interests. We urge you to amend the current preliminary
draft shoreline master plan to prohibit mining activities on the shoreline of Hood Canal and any other
shoreline of state-wide significance within the county's jurisdiction.
