Preliminary Draft Shoreline Master Plan
I am writing to recommend that you amend the preliminary draft shoreline master plan to
prohibit mining activities on the Hood Canal and any other shoreline of state-wide
significance in Jefferson County. The Hood Canal within Jefferson County is a shorelines
of state-wide significance area and should not be opened to mining and
other industrial uses. we are about to spend a large amount of
taxpayer dollars to save the Hood Canal from dying. It would be at cross purposes for you
Jefferson County to permit any of our shorelines to further industrial or mining uses.
I urge you to amend this preliminary draft to prohibit mining an other industrial use.
