Draft Shoreline Master Plan
I understand that the draft update of the Jefferson County Shoreline Master Plan permits
mining activities on the shoreline of Hood Canal.
How can this be? I would think that the basic presumption in any update would be to favor
retention of the natural characteristics and beauty of the canal. Inviting the
destruction and resulting controversy and litigation which would be sure to follow makes
me question the common sense if not the integrity of those responsible for the document.
Please. Prohibit mining activities on the shoreline of Hood Canal.
