RE: Prohibition of mining and shipping along and in Hood Canal.
Dear Planning Commission,
The Shoreline Master Plan should help protect the natural resources of this county for
future generations. The Hood Canal has a delicate ecosystem that is already severely
threatened by human habitation and activities along its shore. Mining, conveyors, piers
and barge facilities along the edge and in the Hood Canal are not compatible with the long
term preservation of this important body of water.
Please prohibit this type of intense land use and development.
