Subject: please amend plan
I understand that Jefferson County is currently updating its Shoreline Master Plan. I also understand
that it permits mining activities, including conveyor belts, piers, and barges on the conservancy
shoreline of Hood Canal. The entire Hood Canal shoreline is designated as a "Shoreline of State-Wide
Significance. "
Please, please amend the plan so that the Hood Canal remains a pristine waterway. We should not
allow private interests, whose motives are purely financial, to impact this area.
