Subject: Comments for health of the HOOD
Dear JEFF CO PLANNING COMMISSION,
I am writing to express my deep concern about possible developments with the master shoreline regulation that
may include mining. I am deeply concerned about the health of the Hood Canal and the possibility of further
destruction to its declining health. Mining is one of many that cannot be rationalized as a sane activity for our
area.
Our local economy reflects a need to repair our shorelines health and re-establish it as a viable area for shellfish
farming and other activities that support the families that depend on it for income. Please embrace the basic
science and refrain from further dreams of development with in the parameters of the fragile shores of our canal.
