Subject: Preliminary Shoreline Master Plan
I am surprised and dismayed that your preliminary draft would contain language permitting mining, conveyor
belts, etc. It goes against public sentiment, Govemor Gregoire mission to clean up the sound, the Navy's
expression of reservations on actions which this Mas.ter Plan could allow and that of all First Nations who have
ever commented on environmental quality of our inlahd waters.
It is clearly a nod to the Fred Hill "Pit to Pier" project.
It is sad to think that trusted officials and persons whose salaries are paid with our taxes are so easily influenced
by special interest groups.
Maybe it would be a good idea to check which administration is in the White House and get a check on the
direction this country wants to head.
Please take the time to review the content language referring to those permitted uses that put in jeopardy the well
defined goals to keep our Waters from becoming even more polluted for good of our environment that we will
leave to our children.
Thank You.
