Dear Jefferson County Commissioners,
Please amend the current preliminary draft shoreline master plan to prohibit mining activities on the
shoreline of Hood Canal and any other shoreline of state-wide significance within the county's
jurisdiction.
Hood Canal remains a pristine waterway, virtually void of commercial shipping of any kind. Its
shoreline is not yet marred by industrialization. We should not allow private interests, whose
motives are purely financial, to destroy this gift of nature.
